Northern Virginia is also a favorite destination of shoppers, from upscale shopping malls to bargain outlets and winery shops. This region’s scenic countryside is renowned as “Horse Country” with steeplechase races, horse shows and polo matches.
In addition to its amazing historical and tourist attractions, Northern Virginia is home to many of the nation’s largest defense contractors, high-tech companies, biotech firms and federal agencies.
