You’ll find Civil War trails and historic sites within walking distance and short drives from the Inn. Kevin, Innkeeper and Country Life Concierge, can direct you to many spots in and around town that boast famous battles as well as historic meeting places for presidents from George Washington through John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

Middleburg is a shopper’s paradise, with designer boutiques, jewelry shops, antique dealers, and art galleries lining the streets. Annual equine events and festivals attract visitors from all over the world. The Middleburg Country Inn bed & breakfast offers its guests ample parking and most attractions are just a short walk away.

Middleburg, so named because of its location midway between Alexandria and Winchester, was a dot on the map of colonial Virginia as early as 1731, when it was known as Chinn’s Crossroads. Only slightly smaller in population today (about 550) than it was during the Civil War, the look of the town itself – quaint, colonial and beautifully restored – is carefully preserved by its residents.
